Edit PDF files online, free

Change a PDF without Acrobat or a download. Type text anywhere on a page — handy for forms that aren’t fillable — add a logo or photo, highlight lines, draw boxes and circles, sketch freehand, or white out a mistake and type over it. Move, resize and undo as you go, then save a new PDF. The editing happens in your browser, so your file never leaves your device.

  • Your files stay on your device

Edit PDF runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded — not the file, not even its name.

  • Free, with no sign-up

No account, no watermark on your files and no daily limit for normal use.

  • Files up to 100 MB

Large or scanned files are fine — they simply take a little longer.

  • Works on every device

Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android, in any modern browser. Nothing to install.

What you can do with the PDF editor

  • Add text to a PDF

Type on any page — fill in a form that isn’t fillable, add a note or a date. Four sizes, bold and six colours.

  • Highlight a PDF

Draw a see-through coloured box over a line so it stands out on screen and in print.

  • Draw on a PDF

Sketch freehand with a mouse, trackpad or finger, or mark things up with rectangles and circles.

  • Add an image to a PDF

Place a logo, photo or stamp (PNG, JPG or WebP) on any page, then move and resize it.

  • White out a PDF

Cover a mistake with a solid white box, then type the correction on top.

  • Sign a PDF

Draw, type or upload your signature, place it on the page and add the date.

Good to know

Not directly yet. To change a word or a line, cover it with a white box and type the new text on top — on screen and in print it reads as replaced. The original text is still in the file underneath, so don’t use this to hide private information.

Choose Text, tap or click where you want it and type. Pick a size, colour and bold, then drag the text into place.

Choose Rectangle, turn on Fill, pick a colour such as Amber and draw over the line. Filled shapes are see-through, so the text shows through like a highlighter.
